There are 46 total hiragana characters that can be used to represent the pronunciation of every Japanese word. When writing Hiragana stroke order, pressure, and direction matter. Each tile contains the kana (symbol) and the pronunciation beneath it. Different combinations and variations of these characters produce other types of sounds, even some to describe a pause.
